Spring made a brief appearance last Wednesday when I was lucky enough to be at westernmost tip of Cornwall. Turning our back on the unappealing and superfluous buildings of the ‘Lands End Experience’, my friend and I walked south under a clear blue sky. Occasionally I sat and had a bit of a scribble, trying to catch the translucence of that turquoise sea.
The headland in the sketch is Carn Les Boel, rocky with echoes of an iron age hill fort. A place to sit and think and gaze out at the Scilly Isles on the horizon.
Yes, the sea really was that colour, I didn’t have to exaggerate. Here’s the proof….
There’s something special about the clarity of the sea in Cornwall – and something very uplifting about that colour!
